  • Lecturer in Film Production Simon Aeppli’s essay 'There’s no place like home' was published by in the British Sociological Association, Auto/Biography Yearbook (Russell Press) in July 2014.

    His web documentary about Aldershot Military Cemetery is being mentored by the Sheffield Doc/fest and he recently received a scholarship from Screen4All Campus to attend the Augmented TV & New Technologies conference in Paris.
  • Fay Hart's interactive documentary, Fragmented Lives, has just been featured on a blog by a UK leading disability charity Scope. Fay made her documentary as part of the MA in Documentary Practices, which she graduated with in 2014.
    Fragmented Lives explores what it is like to live with disabilities and Neuro- Muscular Disorders.
  • Graduate Jack Attridge, working for 22Cans has designed Godus. When it was released onto iPhone & iPad in August it very quickly became the most downloaded game that week in the US and across Europe.
  • Music Video high flying graduate Ian Pons Jewell has his Director's Cut of Naughty Boy Ft Sam Romans - Home on the Vimeo Staff Pic List.
  • The Film & Media Alumni event was held at the BFI, in September. Bafta-winning graduate Dominic Mitchell spoke, along with Vice Chancellor Simon Ofield-Kerr, and Film Production Course Leader, Claire
  • Two 1st Year films made in 2013, screened at the Portobello Film Festival as part of TheVideoCafe - Footsteps Above Me, and When Sally Met Andrea - James Dunstan, Daniel Tung, Alex Collins, Will Daniels & Xinlu Qi (Footsteps Above Me) and Lexy Anderson, Sinead Cuffe, Vladmir Gruev, James Dunstan & Alex Southam (When Sally Met Andrea). 
    Footsteps Above Me will also be screened at the Whitney Film Festival on October 24.
  • Graduate Jonas Trukanas has directed the fiction elements of the feature film Radvilliad which opened across 20 screens in Lithuania in this month.
  • Joe Clifford’s Other Cinema film (made in his 2nd year in 2012) Food Friends and Family has been selected to screen at the Food Film Festival in both New York and Chicago next month.
  • 2014 Individual Practice film, Red has been selected for Underwire Festival in the Best Producer category, and will also be screening at Aesthetica in November.
  • Graduates Thomas Read, Adam Grasso & Daniel O'Flaherty will be attending the GTC Bill Vinten University Awards in York next month, they have all been nominated for an award for excellence in cinematography.  
  • Graduate Beewan Athwal is currently in LA, one of only 25 screenwriters from around the world, attending the CineStory Retreat. While there, she will take part in some intensive workshops, where she gets mentored by Hollywood professionals. Her script, Namaste Mumbai made it through to the semi-finals in the tough competition that CineStory runs preceding the Retreat.
  • Sunday Dinner at the Morgans, a graduation film made in 2014 has already featured in the film festival circuit, screening at Cinefringe UK, Northeast Film Festival UK, (Winning Best Student Film), Big Bear Lake International Film Festival (California), New Filmmakers (LA). This weekend, it is screening at Detroit Moving Media Festival (US) and at Thurrock (UK) simultaneously. The film has also just been selected by the FilmSchoolFest in Munich in November.
