Three students from BA (Hons) Fashion Promotion & Imaging (FPI) at UCA Epsom are working at London Fashion Week this year, helping out backstage and with PR.
Final year student Abi Bryant is working with PR agency H PR - a company she started working with in her second year at UCA as a work placement. She has worked with them since then as a freelancer PR assistant supporting at fashion week, press days and other events. Abi says it is something she really enjoys and it has given her a lot of confidence. The experience has helped her to decide that she wants to pursue a career in PR.
Also working at the event are FPI students Jessica Evans, Ashleigh Clarke and Josie Pearson. Jessica and Ashleigh will be working with Fashion Scout Events during the week, working backstage and helping with dressing. For Josie, LFW isn't her first experience of working on fashion weeks - she has previousy helped at a Dunhill fashion event in January and on a LFW retreat event recently. Her tasks involved things such as setting up, maintaining the backstage area, supervising interns and greeting and directing models. At LFW she will be working an assistant backstage manager and schow caller.
Jo Hurley, Course Leader for FPI, said: "It's great that a number of our students are involved in such an important event in the fashion calendar. It's a brilliant experience for them."
