Martin has a wealth of experience at director level, gaining experience in business sustainability issues over 25 years in consultancy, leisure, publishing, training, events and research. He’s also held a range of management positions in strategy, research and marketing , building products, trade exhibitions, financial services and consultancies including Save & Prosper Group, Reed International, Creative Marketing Group & Kiveton Park (Holdings) Ltd.

Martin has held numerous positions as director of business networks focused on sustainable business, green electronics and eco-innovation. Founding editor of the Journal of Sustainable Product Design, Martin is presently a member of the Editorial Boards of GMI & the International Journals of Sustainable Engineering & Design. He’s been a member on advisory boards covering environmental technology, sustainability reporting, and sustainable innovation. He is currently a board member for the EC Eco-Innovation Observatory, Response Ability Alliance, One Earth Innovation and the World Resources Forum. Martin is the chairman of ISO 14006 (eco-design management systems) and was previously UK expert to both ISO and BSI groups on ISO TR 14062 (eco-design).

Producer and organizer of the ‘Sustainable Innovation’ international conference series, Martin is a regular international conference speaker, and author and editor of various books and publications – including Greener Marketing(1992 & 1999), The Green Management Gurus (1996), Managing Eco-design (1997), Sustainable Solutions (2001), and Eco-innovate (2013). Martin has an MBA from Aston Business School (UK) and has a postgraduate diploma in Marketing. Martin was a delegate at the Earth Summit in Rio, in 1992.
